Claude Code security: developers keep the tool, security keeps control
Coding agents read your repositories, environment files and infrastructure code. Rexaris AI lets security teams say yes to Claude Code by putting a corporate gateway, secrets detection and per-developer budgets in the path.
Claude Code talks to the Anthropic API. By default that means a personal key in a developer's shell, an unmanaged data path and an unpredictable bill. In a bank or a payment company that is enough to block adoption.
With Rexaris AI the developer points Claude Code at a corporate endpoint through an environment variable. Every request carries their identity, is scanned for secrets and policy violations, is counted against a budget and is logged. The workflow is unchanged.
What security needs before approving a coding agent
No personal keys
One corporate endpoint with per-developer identity replaces shared or personal provider keys.
Secrets never leave
AWS keys, GitHub tokens, JWTs and private key blocks are detected in the request and blocked. There is no safe masked form of a credential.
Source code policy you can explain
Whether proprietary code may go to an external model is expressed as a rule per repository, team or data class, and proven afterwards in the audit log.
Cost per developer
Agents use far more tokens than chat. Budgets with alerts turn the bill into a line item and catch runaway loops.
How Rexaris AI secures Claude Code
Corporate gateway
Anthropic-compatible endpoint inside your network; Claude Code needs one environment variable.
Learn moreSecrets detection
Credential formats detected and blocked before forwarding, with the developer told why.
Learn morePolicy and routing
Rules per repository and team; sensitive repositories can route to an internal model.
Learn moreAudit and budgets
Who used which model, from which tool, with which policy outcome and cost.

Frequently asked questions
- Does this require changes to Claude Code itself?
- No. Claude Code supports a custom base URL through environment configuration. Developers keep the same CLI and the same commands.
- What about MCP servers and tool calls?
- Governance of tool and MCP actions for agents is on our roadmap and is labelled as such on this site. Today the gateway covers the model traffic: prompts, files, responses, secrets, policy, audit and budgets.
- Can we allow Claude Code for some repositories and not others?
- Yes. Policies can be scoped by team, application or data class, and sensitive repositories can be routed to an internal model or blocked from external providers.
- Does the same setup work for Cursor and other assistants?
- Any assistant that uses the OpenAI or Anthropic API can be pointed at the gateway and governed with the same rules.
